Biogen Idec in 2010 and beyond
Biogen Idec has plans for substantial future growth. As part of fulfilling our mission of meeting serious, unmet medical needs, we intend to:
- Pursue first-in-class and best-in-class products through a combination of internal research and development and strategic partnerships.
- Offer our products through relatively small but highly specialized sales forces.
- Expand our global footprint, including our presence in developing economies, such as China and India, which offer both market opportunity and pools of talent to support ongoing innovation.
In the near term, our success will be driven by continued solid performance of AVONEX, the expansion of RITUXAN into autoimmune treatments, the growth of TYSABRI, and ongoing geographic diversification.
In 2007, we laid out financial goals of a 15% compound annual growth rate for revenue and a non-GAAP EPS at 20% CAGR from 2007-2010.
As part of those goals, we also set out to launch four new products from our pipeline and/or new indications to existing products by the end of 2010.
