Biogen Idec’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Clinical Fellowship Program is committed to improving the lives of patients with multiple sclerosis by supporting clinical fellows at highly respected medical institutions leading the effort to care for MS patients and find new treatments for this serious disease.
For the 2010-2011 academic year, Biogen Idec awarded 12 grants totaling $900,000 (up to $75,000 per fellow) to top universities and medical centers across the country to support clinical fellow research. Once grants were awarded, the selection and placement of the MS Clinical Fellow was at the discretion of the recipient institution.
Biogen Idec introduced the MS Clinical Fellowship Program in 2006. Since its inception, we have donated more than $2 million to various universities and medical centers across the country. In 2010, we were proud to expand the program to 12 grants, up from four grants in previous years.
It is Biogen Idec’s hope that the research and programs funded by these fellowship grants, combined with our own internal research, will help find new and innovative ways to address MS.
