Senior Manager, Management Reporting

Cambridge, MA

The Senior Manager, Corporate Planning and Reporting, is responsible for the design, development, analysis and communication of key financial information to the Senior Management team. This includes, but is not limited, to coordination of all components required for the timely submission of the MMR (Monthly Management Report), Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts, Latest Estimates and Weekly Sales. This position will play a crucial role on the Corporate Planning and Reporting team, as this person must synthesize complex and diverse information.

This position requires the ability to successfully manage a heavy workload with constant deadlines and pressures to get the information to Senior Management timelier, more accurate and more relevant. Key customers that this position will regularly interact with include the Senior Finance Management team, including the VP, Controller, VP, Business Planning, as well as periodic presentations with the CFO and other Senior Executives.

Primary Functions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidation and/or preparation of all components of the MMR (Monthly Management Report) Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts and Latest Estimates issued to all VP and above associates each month.
  • Establishment of quality control processes to ensure accuracy and relevance of released package.
  • Development of Executive Reporting processes and tools to allow for a more flexible, on-demand access to information for Senior Management.
  • Continual evaluation and integration of best practices in Executive Reporting; ensure that the Senior Management team is presented with information one-step ahead of our competitors.
  • Manage a Senior Analyst.

Qualifications

  • 8 plus years in Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, or similar field, including specific experience with detailed P&L analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing IT tools (including utilization of both ERP and OLAP toolsets) to maximize value of generated reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Expert experience with MS Access, Hyperion Essbase, and/or other OLAP tools strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with presentations to Senior Management, including exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or MBA in Finance or Accounting required; CPA a strong plus.
